Alexander “Alex” A. Stroka Jr.,70, passed away on August 8th, 2023. Alex was born on June 30, 1953, in Buffalo, New York to the late Alexander and Clara (Kuzmierczak) Stroka.
He attended Depew High School in Buffalo and later earned an Associates Degree as a Mental Health Assistant from Erie Community College in New York.
Alex had a deep love for dogs, particularly greyhounds, and dedicated many years of his life to rescuing dogs in the local area. He also enjoyed listening to John Lennon's music, spending time in the kitchen cooking his favorite meals and playing cards with his siblings.
In addition to his parents, Alex was proceeded in death by his wife Joanne Goodman and brothers Robert Stroka and Edward Sroka.
He is survived by his two daughters, Dawn Stoll (Shay French) and Amy Swartzfager (Jon), and his two sons, Christopher Stroka (Courtney) and Brian Stroka (Melody). Alex is also survived by his two sisters, Mary Ann Trainer (John) and Fran Surowiec (Edward), and his brother, Daniel Stroka (Ruth). In addition to his children and siblings, Alex leaves behind fifteen grandchildren: Alexandria & Winter Stoll, Taylor Pudlin (Mike), Jeffrey Reaves Jr., Olivia, Lillyan, Nathaniel, Isabella, Anna Katherine & Emily Stroka, Aliyah, Addyson & Ayda Barrentine, and Mason Swartzfager. He also has two great-grandchildren, Elliot and Sophia Pudlin.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
