Albert E. "Skip" Veshinfsky, Jr.

Albert E. “Skip” Veshinfsky Jr., 71, of Lake City, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital.
He was born in Connellsville, PA, (Fayette County) on February 17, 1951, a son of the late Albert E. and Helen L. (Mahokey) Veshinfsky Sr.
Skip moved to the Girard area with his family as a young boy, where he attended St. John’s Parochial School. He later graduated from the Rice Avenue Union High School in 1969, where he excelled in the Yellow Jackets sports programs, including basketball and football. While a student, he began work early at Goodwins Produce on Middle Road. Following high school, he began his career in the auto parts industry, working for Rice Avenue Auto supply, Klimek’s Auto Parts and most recently, Windoft’s NAPA auto parts in Girard.
He was a member of the Girard Post #494 Sons of the American Legion, loved fishing on the nearby lakes and streams and also hunting. He was fond of bowling for many years and enjoyed a good game of poker with “the Guys.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Veshinfsky in 1990.
Skip will be greatly missed by his family, which include his wife, Judith V. (Monnin) Veshinfsky, whom he married October 8 ,1988 in Girard; his daughter, Ashley M. Veshinfsky; son, Sean D. Veshinfsky; brother, Richard A. Veshinfsky (Sally) and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Friday from 2 to 4 PM and 6PM to the time of a brief prayer service at 8 PM at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main Street East, Girard. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
