William A. (Jr.) Snow

William A. Snow Jr., 84 of Platea, died Thursday September 7, 2017 at the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Erie.
 He was born April 12, 1933 in East Springfield, a son of the late William A. Snow Sr. and Matilda Moyer Snow.
  After attending high school he was inducted into the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and later deployed to Japan and later Korea. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to the Girard area and went to work for General Telephone , Zurn Industries, and Frank Sabol in Platea as a truckdriver. In 1966 he began delivering new autos through the Teamsters Union, Local #377 Youngstown, retiring from there in 1987.
  William was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Albion where he was active with youth groups in the past: he was also a member of the Western StarLodge No. 304, F   A.M.; the Order of the Eastern Star #22 Albion, was a life member and was past quarter master of VFW Springfield Post #4965, the American Legion #567 of Albion, and volunteered his time at concession stands at local carnivals for 46 years. He was also a Platea Boro Council member, a former chief of the Platea Volunteer Fire Dept. from 1960-66, and was one of the original founders of Dan Rice Days in Girard.
  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jacquilin "Jackie" J.  Snow whom he married on September 21, 1957 in Barnesboro, PA and a stepbrother Willard Stevens.
  He is survived by his sons, William "Bucky" A. Snow III (Karen) and Gary M. Snow; sisters, Doris Clisby, Betty Waters, and Carol Buonavolonta; brothers Richard "Dick" Snow (Thelma), Ralph Snow (MaryKay), and Robert "Hank" Snow (Mary); stepsister Jeannette Beatman ; stepbrothers, Richard Stevens (Anne), and Thomas Stevens (Beth); grandchildren, William A. "Will" Snow IV (Nicole), Eric S. Snow (Shannon), Benjamin M. Snow and Christina N. Snow; and great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Mackenzie, Abigail and Madison; also many nieces and nephews.
 Services will be held privately by the family.
 In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the William Snow memorial fund C/O Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard, Pa 16417
 Burial will be in Platea Cemetery.
