Toni June Engle, 73, of Lake City, formerly of Long Beach, CA, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Toni was the daughter of the late Toney and Violet Sisney, and the step-daughter of the late Martha Sisney. Toni was the biological daughter of the late George and Dolores Buchholz.

Toni was a proud military wife to her late husband of 40 years, James Engle, retired Navy. Toni enjoyed traveling, reading, puzzles, visiting casinos, shopping, and sharing her love and time with her family and friends.

Besides her husband and parents, Toni was preceded in death by brothers Robert and David Buchholz.

Toni is survived by her siblings, LeRoy (Terry) Chamberlain, Janis (Walt) Voogt, Patricia (Scott) Ellefson, George (Diane) Buchholz, and James (Linda) Buchholz; as well as four children, Violet (Brian) Oxford, Trish (Jeff) Clark, Les (Nadine) Kirkland, and Daniel Kirkland. She is further survived by several nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

Toni’s greatest love was saved for her grandchildren: Jamie (Philip), Nicole, Jenna (Patrick), James, Jessica (Nicholas), Jillian (Arthur), Jeffrey, Korinna, Kayla, Michael (Jeana), Courtney (Vinny), Kayleigh, and Ryan; in addition to her great-grandchildren: Kelsey, Tyler, Brooklynn, Dominic, Cyrus, Harlynn, Aiza, Lucas, Evelyn, Aria, and Prescott.

Toni’s family would like to thank the care teams at Select Specialty Hospital, Pleasant Ridge Manor, and extend a special "thank you" to the nurses at Millcreek Community Hospital for taking such great care of Toni throughout the past year. Toni loved and appreciated all of the people who showed her love in her time of need.

A private memorial will be held at a later date by Toni’s family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Erie VA Behavioral Health Council, 135 East 38th St., Building 8, Erie, Pa 16504.
