Scott L. Gilmore, 49 of Erie and formerly of Girard, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Wednesday July 19, 2017 at his home. 
 He was born in Erie, August 9, 1967, a son of the late John R. and Charlotte (Ellsworth) Gilmore. Scott was raised and educated in Girard, graduating from the Girard High School in 1985. Following high school he worked for various companies in the area. He moved to Florida for work returning home and had most recently been employed by Parker Hannifin.
 His family fondly remembers how he had a “huge heart”, deeply cared about people and animals of all distinction. Scott was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved all the Pittsburgh Sports teams. He collected comic books and sports paraphernalia and especially loved the times he and his brother, John went to comic book shows finding new items for their collections. 
 In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, John E. Gilmore. Scott will be greatly missed by his family, which includes his brother, Bob Gilmore (Theresa) of Lake City; a nephew, Josh Gilmore of Lake City and a sister in law, Debra Gilmore of Fairview. 
 Friends may call on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard and are invited to services there on Monday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scott Gilmore Memorial Fund C/O Edder Funeral Home, Inc.
