Richard L. Burch

Richard L. Burch, 75 of Lake City, passed away on Sunday September 30, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.
 He was born November 29, 1942 in Erie, a son of the late Lavern and Dorothy (Reckopf) Burch.
 Rich attended various schools in the Erie area and lived most of his youth in the state of California. He later returned to the Erie area and worked at various manufacturing facilities. Rich joined the Merchant Marines in 1967 and served aboard the S.S. John Sherwin on the Great Lakes. In 1977 he went to work at Eriez Magnetic's as a welder/fitter and retired from there following 17 years with the company.
 He was a member of the Millcreek Post # 773 Sons of the American Legion, loved riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles his entire life as well as rebuilding and customizing them in the Erie winter months. Although he loved many things in life, his family, children and grandchildren were always his priority in life.
 In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Jean Canales, Ruth Blose and her husband David; a nephew, Eric Blose and grandson, Brent Edwards.
 He will be greatly missed by his family, which include his wife, Kathleen M. (Peyton) Burch, whom he married May 18, 1968 in Lawrence Park; a son, Rick Burch (Tina); daughters, Denise Maitland (Herb), Diane Kaputa (Joe), Lisa Edwards (Dan); his grandchildren, Nick Burch (Sarah), Samantha Puette (Ryan), Shaelyn McQuillen, Ryley Burch, Jessica Edwards (Andrew); sisters Arlene Ferrare (Frank), Joan Gardner and Beverly Burch also several nieces and nephews.
 Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to the time of a Prayer Service at 8 p.m. at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard.
