Patricia L. (Martin) Hites

Patricia L. (Martin) Hites, 87 of Lake City, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at St. Vincent Health Center.

 She was born in Erie, November 18, 1930 in Erie, a daughter of the late Carl H. and Hannah (Sullivan) Martin.

 Pat began her education at St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Erie, later graduating from Strong Vincent High School in 1949. She worked at the former Halle’s Department Store in Erie and later at the Westwood Racquet Club providing child care.

 She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Girard and a former parishioner of St. Patrick and Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church’s in Erie. She enjoyed swimming at Presque Isle, simply sharing a “cup of tea” with friends and especially being a compassionate, loving mom, with her children and grandchildren. She looked forward to spending as much time with them as possible.

 In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold D. Hites on March 29, 2018, whom she married November 1, 1958;  her sisters, Marion Williams, Lois Zyniewicz, Marcella Martin and her brothers, Joseph, Lester, Carl and Jack Martin and a son in law, John F. Hadley.

  She will be lovingly remembered by her family which include her daughters, Colleen M. Buck of Lake City, Denise E. Welch (David) of New Wilmington, PA, Susan G. French of Conneaut, OH, Karen M. Hadley of Lake City, Nancy E. Chorney (Robert) of Charlotte, NC; a son, Brian H. Hites of Millcreek; her beloved grandchildren, John Buck (Brandi), Wayne Buck, Frank Buck (Jessica), Joshua Buck (fiance’ Kassandra), Ryan Welch, Christopher Welch, Erin French, Patrick French, Courtney Smith, Jayson Hadley, Ashley Chorney and Amanda Chorney; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Edder Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 101 Olin Ave., Girard at 10 a.m. with Rev. William Miller officiating.

 Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
