Martha Pertl Rickard, 93, of Girard, was welcomed in to the arms of our Heavenly Father, surrounded by her Loving family on September 20, 2017.
 
Martha was born December 9, 1923 in Keepville, PA, a daughter of the late Frank and Antonia Feres Pertl.
 She graduated from the Edinboro High School in 1942. She later attended College at the Anderson College in Anderson, Indiana, where she majored in music. She has been self employed as a public accountant, actively licensed since 1977.
 Martha has lead a full life as a Pastor's wife to Rev. Michael D. Rickard and her priority as a mother to her six children.
 She faithfully attended the Girard Alliance Christian Church. She also taught Sunday School and directed the Vacation Bible School at the Federated Church in East Springfield and Washington Valley Christian Church in Cambridge Springs, PA for several years.
 She was also the President of the Franklin Center "Old Time Ladies Aid", a quilting club, where she and fellow members enjoyed devotions and made lap robes for residents in nursing homes.
 She was an avid reader and enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning, crocheting, quilting, baking and volunteering with many of the local organizations throughout the area.
 She was preceded in death by sisters Lillian Galuska and Rose Jones also by brother Frank Pertl
 She is survived by five daughters Brenda C. Summerville (Russell) of Strafford, MO, Janice G. Hulings (Brian) of Edinboro, Charlotte J. Suroviec (Chris) of Cranesville, Rebecca R. Banks (Dennis) of Gas City, IN, Debra J. Kupetz of Erie, and her son Ronald F. Rickard of AZ and her son in law Edward Kupetz of Girard.
She will be sadly missed by her 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, and many friends. 
 Family and Friends may call at the Girard Alliance Christian Church, 229 Rice Avenue Girard, PA on Friday from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm, with a funeral service on Saturday morning at 10:00 am at the church, with Pastor Clyde Davis officiating.    
 Burial will follow at McLane Cemetery.
