Leona A. (Hardner) Sleppy Holland, of Girard died on May 4, 2018 at Pleasant Ridge Manor.
She was born in Erie, a daughter of the late Louis C. and Dorris E. (Wester) Hardner.
She graduated from Strong Vincent High School and worked in the Sales Dept. at R.P. & C Valve (now PHB) for 20 years. She was most recently employed by the Girard School District in the cafeteria.
Leona was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Girard and of the Girard American Legion Post # 494 Auxiliary. She was also Past Matron and former Secretary of the Girard Chapter No. 84, Order of the Eastern Star, and a Erepa Grottoette. Leona loved gardening and was an active member of the Elk Valley Garden Club.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, James Sleppy and John Holland, Sr. She is survived by two sons, Richard J. Sleppy of Marietta, GA and Neil B. Sleppy (Bridget) of Goldsboro, NC; a stepson, John Holland, Jr. of Girard; stepdaughters, Judy Sargent (Al), Jane Griffith Manson and Joy Teribery (Tom), all of Lake City; brother-in-law, Wayne Shrecengost of Minneola, FL; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Monday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Edder Funeral Home Inc, 309 Main Street East, Girard, and are invited to attend services there on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Andrew Edwards officiating.
Leona's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Pleasant Ridge Manor and Lakeland Hospice for the care given while a resident there.

Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery.
