Joan (Licsko) Navecky, 82 of Girard, passed away on Friday January 19, 2018 at Manchester Commons.
  She was born June 2, 1935 in Erie, a daughter of the late John J. and Anna (Gurak) Licsko.
 Joan graduated from Girard’s Rice Avenue Union High School in 1953. In her younger years she worked at the 5 and 10 store in Girard and later for “The Lady Fair”, women’s clothing store in Girard for over 20 years.
 She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Girard where she volunteered many days for the funeral luncheon committee. She was also a member of the Girard American Legion Post #494 Auxiliary.
 In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Norman C. Navecky in 2017 also by two sisters, Mary Yusko and Rosemarie Licsko; a brother, John Licsko.
 Joan will be greatly missed by her family, which include two daughters, Kathleen M. Seth (Jeff) of Lake City, Susan J. Manzella (David) of Boston, NY; three sons, Michael A. Navecky (Roberta) of York, Pa, David C. Navecky of Washington, D.C., James E. Navecky (Nancy) of Garner, NC; two sisters in law, June Albert of Millcreek, Betsy Licsko of Girard; a brother in law, Frank Navecky (Joyce) of Girard; her beloved grandchildren, Shelbi Daniels, Brian Daniels, Dominic Manzella, Anthony Manzella, Mitchell Navecky and Sydney Navecky, also several nieces and nephews.
 Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard. A Prayer Service will be held there on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by the funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 101 Olin Ave., Girard at 10 a.m. with Rev. William Miller officiating.
 Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
