Edward M. Carr Sr., 87 of Lake City, died Tuesday July 10, 2018 at Millcreek Community Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born December 19, 1930 in Erie, a son of the late Earl T. and Clara (Ballman) Carr.
Ed attended school at Academy High School in Erie. As a young man he began working for Copes-Vulcan on 26th St. in Erie and followed the company to Lake City, where he worked until his retirement and residing there since.
He loved being outdoor’s, and simply mowing the grass or shoveling snow. Ed enjoyed bowling and played in several leagues at Lake City Lanes and Westway Lanes. He also enjoyed a good game of Horseshoes with his family and friends at their home and watching his favorite football team, The Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Dolores (Richards) Carr, also by two sisters, Alice Noonan and Ellen McKelvey and six brothers, Robert, Bill, Jack, Earl, Dick and Fritz.
He will be greatly missed by his family, which includes his son, Edward M. “Bud” Carr Jr. (Lisa); a step daughter, Wendy Donohue (Mike); step sons, Jim Hull and Charlie Hull (Bev); two sisters, Elsa Carr (Patricia DeLuca) and Margaret “Peggy” Butts; a brother, Lester Carr; seven step grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
No calling hours will be observed.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard on Monday July 16, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Byron Gurnee officiating.
Burial will be in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3025 French St., Erie, PA 16504.
