Dorothy V. (Eaton) Fetterman 89, of Girard passed away Tuesday September 5, 2017.
She was born in Franklin Twp., September 13, 1927 a daughter of the late Benjamin A. and Cassie E. Eaton.
She graduated from the Rice Ave. Union High School in 1946. She was a very hard worker picking potatoes on Pacansky’s Farm in Girard to support her family after her first husband Hosea Lorain Folk passed away. Dorothy’s hard work ethic continued often working two or three jobs at a time. She waited tables and cooked for Girard Dinor for 30 years, the Ranch Restaurant and Farmers Tavern.
Dorothy was a long time member of Lake City Presbyterian Church, loved crocheting, cross word puzzles, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Dorothy, along with her parents and first husband was preceded in death by a son, Charles Robert Folk, and brothers; Clinton, Walter, Leon, Norman, Charles, Arthur, Floyd and US Army PVT Archie Eaton, who was killed in action during the Korean Conflict in 1953.
She will be lovingly remembered by son Lester L. “Les” Fetterman (Lisa) of Millcreek, and daughter, Darlene A. Salhoff (Brent) of Edinboro; one brother Lynn Eaton (Nadine) of Girard.
Seven grandchildren; Dennis Folk (Jeniffer), Michael Folk (Tina), Nicole Gebhardt, James Fetterman, Melissa Gebhardt, Carly Robson, Mackenzie Salhoff. Great grandchildren; Kalie, Nick, Jarrett, Samantha, Grace. Many nieces and nephews who affectionately called her Aunt Dot.
Friends may call on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.at Edder Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard and are invited to attend services there on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Debbie Rimmer officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lake City Presbyterian Church, 10088 Seeley St. Lake City, PA 16423.
Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
