Dear Susan and Sophia,
I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't know Dave well but my father had the deepest respect and admiration for Dave. In recent times, Dave posted on my FB account and replied thoughtfully and encouragingly to me personally. That meant a lot to me. My heart is with you as you face this loss in your life. May God comfort you and Sophia - know that you are loved. xo -- Jill

My heart goes out to the Falvo family. It was because of Mr Falvo's patience and kindness that I passed calculus and calculus 2. At some point my major professor said if you can't get through those classes you need to change majors. And even though it was my 3rd time taking that class he helped me out without making me feel like I was a complete idiot. Calculus was and still is a complete foreign language to me, he worked with me to try to get it and it's because of his amazing teaching that I was able to pass those classes and graduate! I always remember him wearing jean shorts year round in Erie! He was one of my professors in college that made a lasting impression on me. I know what it is like to lose a loved one coming up on 1 year without my Dad. He too suffered for years and although it is bittersweet, your heart hurts everyday that he is no longer with you but know he isn't in pain any longer. Daddies hold a special place in our hearts. Lots of love to the Falvo family from your Behrend family!

While I didn't know David personally, my brother, Nate, did and always spoke highly of him. I know his brother, Mark, because we had a past friendship through law offices. I offer my sincerest sympathy to the family. I know what I would feel like if I lost my one and only baby brother. His suffering is over.

I had Mr. Falvo last fall for my calculus course. I had never expected a college instructor to be as kind, as friendly, as funny, or as helpful as David was. He was such a major part in making my first year on my own at college a memorable and worthwhile experience. Although a college lecturer, he was one of the most normal, relatable people that I had ever met and made college seem like it was easy. In the short time that I knew him, he made a lasting impression on my life that I will never forget. My sympathies go out to his wife and daughter, who I had the wonderful privilege to meet at my final exam last fall. Having lost my father earlier this year, I know what you are going through Sofia. The Lord will guide you every step of the way as He continues to do for me. May David forever be at peace with the Lord.

Dear Susan, Sofia, and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this saddened time. We were so very fond of David and could not have asked for better neighbors when we owned the home on Shady lane next to yours. He was always ready to lend a hand to Gary when he needed help after his back surgery. We remember when Sofia was born and his tremendous love for you both. God will watch over him until we will all see him again one day, as well as he will always watch over you and Sofia. Our deepest sympathies.

Dave and I became friends in school, more of casual friends than some who were his teammates or shared classes with him. But when we did talk the first thing I remember is his ready smile and great attitude. Hhe never seemed down and the world would end before you would ever hear him speak badly of another person. He was one of those people you just felt good being around. I can think of no better compliment for a person. Someone who makes your life a little better.

Dave Falvo was that person.

Dear Susan, Sofia and family,
We are saddened to learn of David's death. He would share photos or stories with my children about their dad and they appreciated his kindness and concern. We will pray that God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you and your family all of his blessings, and great peace of heart and mind as you navigate through this difficult time in your lives.

I'd like to give my thoughts, prayers, and love to you all. Dave is one in a million and he loves his family deeply. He is not gone, he's just resting in God's peace until God calls everybody home. Until then, let the knowledge that he is with Jesus help ease your pain. Honor Dave by allowing yourselves to also laugh during this time. God bless you!

David and I had spoken several times this past year. Pam and I had gone through 5 yrs of the pain and suffering before Ihad my amputation. We discussed several times about our medical status and always David would talk about family. He will be so missed. He loved his family and we had prayed for each other for relief and comfort. Dave was very loved by his students as well. We offer our condolences and will continue our prayer for family and friends. Love to all the family. Revelation 21:4

I have had the honor to be professor Falvo's student for my first two years at Behrend. Professor Falvo was a wonderful soul and I enjoyed being in his class. Professor Falvo and I were close and he was always there to help me. He definitely made a difference in my life as a teacher and was one of the best teachers I've ever had in my life. I am shocked and in tears from this news. But I was well aware of his struggles. I always have him, Mrs. Falvo and Sofie in my prayers. May he rest in peace. I'll really miss him.

Dave, 41 years ago this week we met on the first day of 7th grade. Ever since, you've been one of my very best friends. Most of my life's smiles and laughs have been with you! What I wouldn't give for one more ride in your Firebird, or to tip back a one more Rolling Rock with you after a game, or just to play catch with you one more time. I guess God needed a first baseman, so you had to go. Thanks for a wonderful lifetime friendship and save me a spot in centerfield! Rest In Peace my friend. Hank
