Clifford P. Campbell, 71, of Springboro, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Meadville Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Erie, September 9, 1948, a son, of the late Milton C. and Verna F. (Jackson) Campbell.
Cliff graduated from Girard's Rice Avenue Union High School in 1966. Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. There he served with the 381st Maintenance Munitions Squadron as a Sergeant, and was honorably discharged in 1970. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Air Forces Expeditionary Medal and the Air Force Medal. Upon his return home he began work at Tru-Temper in Lake City where he worked for 27 years, most recently as a Supervisor. He had also been employed at SCI Albion as a Guard, where he retired from.
He was a founding member of the "Beaver Center Swat Team"; loved hunting with his family as well as farming, auctions and buying and owning vintage tractors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Meagen Askounes; a grandson, Timothy "T.J." Campbell and a sister, Mary Lee Harbaugh.
Cliff will be greatly missed by his family, which include his constant companion and caregiver, Karen M. Campbell, three sons, Shawn A. Campbell Sr., Matthew P. Campbell (Nancy), Michael J. Campbell (Robyn); two sisters, Carolyn Sundberg (Anshelm) and Lorna Young; two brothers, Milton G. "Glenn" Campbell (Patty) and Jerome A. Campbell (Tracey); six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday (TODAY) from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard and are invited to attend services there on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Divine officiating.
Burial will be in the Beaver Center Cemetery.
