Alice “Allie Lou” Fischer, 78 of Lake City, passed away on Monday October 9, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.
 She was born February 24, 1939 in North Girard, a daughter of the late Laurence and Mariold (Swanson) Gossman.
 Allie graduated from the Rice Avenue Union High School in 1957. She worked most of her life with the Gertrude Barber Center, beginning in Girard and later being promoted and working in Erie with child development for the employees, retiring from there in 2002.
 She was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Girard; also the Girard American Legion Post #494 Auxiliary and loved socializing, bringing people together wherever she may be, and loved her communities of Girard and Lake City.
 In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Michael A. Hammond and a step son, Christopher C. Fischer and a sister, Laura lee Falletta.
 She will be greatly missed by her family, which include her husband, Charles “Charlie” Fischer, whom she married June 9, 1995 in Girard also by her sister, Barbara M. Hartley; a daughter, Julie Herring (James); a son, Chad Hammond (Dawnielle); step daughters, Norann Dillon and Marybeth Santucci (Steve); a step son, Michael Fischer (Emily); 18 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
 Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6 -8 p.m. at Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard. A Prayer Service will be held there on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 101 Olin Ave., Girard at 10 am with Fr. William Fischer and Fr. William Miller con celebrating.

 Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
