Almeda (Richmond) Bock Brunner

Almeda (Richmond) Bock, Brunner, age 92 went to be with the Lord on Wednesday March, 27, 2024. 

Almeda was born in Philipsburg, PA on May 29, 1931, a daughter of the late William and Helen (Hebden) Richmond.
 
Almeda graduated from the Philipsburg High School in 1949 and then worked at Ibberson's Drug Store in Philipsburg. Shortly thereafter, she moved with her husband to the Erie area in 1951 and, later, in 1968, to Lake City. During this time, Almeda dedicated herself to caring for her young family and making their house a home.

Almeda later went to work as a cafeteria aide for the Girard School District, also for the Lake City Library, and was a caregiver for several families in the Girard and Lake City areas.   She was a long-time member of the Girard Alliance Church where she served as a deaconess, as well as the communion stewardess and Sunday School teacher for 25 years. Consistently an active member of the community, Almeda was also a member of the board of the Rice Avenue Community Library and member of the Girard Township Election Board from 1987 to 2009. In recent years, those involved in Coffee Clutch shared a special place each week for Almeda in both conversation and company - she found great joy in these simple luxuries with friends. 
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Wilbur C. Bock in 1978, whom she married in 1951, and also by her second husband, Harvey J. Brunner, who passed in 2000, whom she married in 1980; a sister, Ruth Long; brothers John, William, and Lewis Richmond; and a grandson, Jacob Brown.

Almeda will be greatly missed by her family which includes her sons, Jeffrey L. Bock (Tracy), Gerald C. "Jerry" Bock (Brenda), Jonathan W. Bock (Jennifer), Mark Brunner (Kathy), David Brunner, Jonathan Brunner (Sue); daughters, Julie K. Burton (Larry); Mary Ellen Brown (Richard); fifteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Monday, April 1, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Edder Funeral Home Inc. 309 Main St. E. Girard. A Funeral Service will be held there the following day, Tuesday, at 10:00 am.
