Peter Pacansky Obituary

Peter Paul Pacansky, age 87, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 6, 2018.  He was born June 29, 1930 in Fairview Township, a son of the late Andrew J. and Anna Yanosky Pacansky.  Pete grew up on the Pacansky family farm on Beckman Road in Fairview Township.  He later met and married the love of his life, his late wife, Joyce Ann Cook on May 19, 1950.  Together they built a home not far from the original homestead.  Pete and his sons continue the Pacansky family farm tradition.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Cook in 1996; also by four sisters, Anna Pacansky, Mary Gieza, Dorothy Felegy and Helen Mikovich; and six brothers, George, John, Michael, Joseph, Andrew (killed while in service WWII) and Jacob Pacansky.  He was also preceded in death by three children, Gerald Lee in 1978, Lisa Ann in 1970 and an infant son.

He will be sadly missed by his family which includes two sons, David P. Pacansky and James L. Pacansky and his wife, Cindy of Fairview; a daughter, Jean Horton of Erie; and a sister, Pauline Clendenning of Indiana.  He will also be missed by his five loving grandchildren, James with wife, Michele, Capt. Jeffrey (USAF) with wife, Valerie Jean, Justin, Katelyn Ludrof with husband, Joseph, and Kristin Pacansky.  He was fortunate to have four great grandchildren in his life also, Colten Pacansky, Emersyn, Blake and Owen Ludrof.  The great grandchildren will carry on his love of farming and tractors.  Some of their favorite things to do while visiting on the farm were to go for tractor rides and check the crops in the fields.

In his early work history, Pete worked at Bucyrus Erie and Copes-Vulcan for a number of years.  He also worked for Fairview Township plowing snow for over 35 years.  Farming has always been an integral part of the Pacansky family.  To this day, the Pacansky name is known for their wonderful potatoes.  Pete and Joyce enjoyed traveling and traveled extensively over the years.

He was a member of Lake Erie Lodge #347, F. & A.M., Girard; Zem Zem Temple Shrine; Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Erie, a member of the EREPA Grotto, and the Fairview American Legion Post #742.
