Mary E. Taylor, 100, formerly of Fairview, died Monday April 3, 2017 at her son's home in Tionesta, Pa.

She was born October 15, 1916 in Brookville, PA, a daughter of Edward and Kitty (Hughes) Himes.

Mary was raised and educated in Brookville, later moving to Erie in 1943. She worked for Marx Toy's in Girard and also cleaned homes for numerous people in the Fairview area for many years. Mary had lived at St. Joseph Apartments until recently residing with her son in Tionesta.

She was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church and enjoyed crocheting items for her family and playing bingo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David H. Taylor, Son, Reuben Taylor, Sister, Betty Hetrick, Brothers, Reuben, Robert, Jim and Joe Himes Granddaughters, Beverly J. Taylor and Alana Marie Riedinger.

She will be greatly missed by her family, which includes her two Sons, John (Geraldine) Taylor of New Braunsfield, TX, Tom (Miquel) Taylor of Tionesta, PA; two Daughters, Helen (Maurice) Powers, Alana Buzza of Jacksonville, FL; Three Sisters, Ariel Edwards, Mabel Boyd, Helen McAninch; twenty grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Edder Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard, and are invited to attend services there on Friday at 10 a.m.with Rev. John Gerber, Pastor of the Fairview United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.
