John W. Waddell, 60 of Cranesville, passed away on Thursday August 3, 2017 at Pleasant Ridge Manor following an extended illness.
 He was born in Erie, September 25, 1956, a son of John C. Waddell of Revloc, Pa., and the late Dorothy (Coleman) Waddell who passed away November 15, 2012.
 John graduated from Tech Memorial High School in 1975. He entered the US Navy in the delayed entry program while still a Senior in high school. He was stationed at NAS Jacksonville, NAS Sigonella, Sicily and NAS Keflavik, where he was an Aviation Mechanic, working many hours on the P-3 Orion Sub hunter. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he returned home and began working at Zurn Industries as a Service Representative, later working many years at PHB Diecast and most recently Erie Foundry, until his health did not permit him to work anymore.
 He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Albion; enjoyed deer hunting, collecting rocks, cooking for his family, vegetable and herb gardening, playing with his beloved granddaughter and his favorite dog, “Bloomer”
 John will be greatly missed by his family, which include his wife of 39 years, Teresa A. (Poulter) Waddell; a daughter, Julie A. Waddell-Coghill (Michael) of Kansas City, MO.; two sons, Daniel E. Waddell II and fiancé’ Kevin Chandler of Jefferson, OH, John C. Waddell II (Holli) of Cranesville; a sister, Linda J. Cassatt (Jim) of Revloc, Pa., three brothers, Steve Waddell (Linda) of Wattsburg, Daniel Waddell (Laura) of Edinboro, David Waddell (Barbara) Wichita Falls, TX; his beloved granddaughter, Eleanore K. Waddell; and several nieces and nephews.
 There will be no calling hours or services observed.
 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 3025 French St., Erie, PA 16504 or to Great Lakes Hospice, 1700 Peach St. # 244, Erie, PA 16501.
