James M. Artello, 64 of Girard passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016 at UPMC Hamot in Erie.

Jim was born on September 12, 1951 to the late Peter and Helen (Bartosek) Artello in Erie, PA.

Jim graduated from Northwestern High School in 1969. He attended Cleveland Engineering Institute, where he received his associates degree in engineering. Following his education, he went to work at Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad. He worked on the railroad for 34 years and retired in 2006. Jim spent the last two winters in Texas, where he met his Fiance Jean Villarreal. He enjoyed, hunting, automobiles, john deere tractors and traveling. He was a member of Erie Christian Fellowship and the Railroad Retirement Association.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Fred Rood.

He will be missed by his family which includes, his daughter, Shannon Artello of Erie; his son, Michael Artello of Miami, FL; sisters, Nancy Roberts and her husband Bruce of Albion, and Dorothy Rood of Cranesville; many nieces and nephews; as well as his cats, Rusty, Pumpkin and Ginger.

Friends and family are invited to call on Monday, from 4 until the time of the service at 7pm at Edder Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard.
