Gordon J. "Gordo" Bowers, 64, of East Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at his home.
 He was born April 1, 1953 in Erie, a son of the late Lyman and Mary Bowers.
 Gordon graduated from Wattsburg Area High School in 1971. Following high school he went to work for Erie Hard Chrome and later began working at General Electric in Erie. Gordon was accepted and later graduated from the GE Apprentice Program and most recently worked there as an electrician, retiring from there in 2013.
 He was a member of the Local UE 506 Union. He loved playing the guitar, listening to music, camping, collecting cars, gardening, cruises, rolling down the road on his Harleys and spending time with his family. He at one time had a band that played local events, called "Gordy and the Leprechauns".
 He will be greatly missed by his family, which include his long time companion, Jean M. Smith, his daughter, Tammy M. Smith; step daughter Chastity Lesh (Jason); three sisters, Marilyn Pheasant (Richard "Rick"), Sheila Hirsch (Terry Johnston), Diane Trinh; a brother, Timothy "Tim" Bowers (Barbara); a brother in law, Michael Trinh; his beloved grandchildren, Jacob Heath Jr., Elizabeth Heath, Jazmine Gore, Kara Norman, Tyler Curtis, Cassandra Smith, Lilian Lesh; great granddaughter, Melody Wagers; several nieces and nephews, many close friends and his very much loved dogs, Pepper, Persia, and Bootsy.
 Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to the time of a prayer service at 8 p.m. at Edder Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard.
