Geraldine M. "Gerri" (Denham) Mills, 84 of Millcreek and formerly of Lake City passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at UPMC Hamot from an unexpected, sudden illness surrounded by her family.

She was born June 19, 1932 in Linesville, PA, daughter of the late Herman and Hazel M. (Thompson) Denham.

Gerri was raised and educated in the Girard area and attended Rice Avenue Union High School. She enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was very thoughtful of friends and neighbors in their time of need. Later in life she enjoyed a successful career in real estate with Coldwell Banker Realtors.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett A. Mills, whom she married March 20, 1950 in East Springfield.

Gerri was a social member of the Edinboro-McKean VFW and the Elks Club in Erie.

She will be greatly missed by her family, which include her daughters, Cheryl R. Joslin (Dennis Oas) of Girard, Susan D. Strohmeyer (Gene) of Millcreek, Sheila E. Smith (Robert) of Girard, Sandra L. Hearn (David) of Girard; a son, Brian E. Mills (Jennifer) of East Springfield; a sister, Darlene "Dolly" Graham; her grandchildren, Jody Gadley (Jeff); Carrie VanDamia (Nick), Hallie and Carly Strohmeyer, Megan Smith, (Chris Filby), Mara Smith, Jamie Watters, Jennifer Stoneman (Dennis), Alexandria, Katelyn and Dawson Mills; her great grandchildren, Dillin, Morgan, Aidan, Payton, Hannah, Hunter, Lexi and Shelby; her sister-in-law Elaine Hinkle of Fairview, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm at Edder Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard and are invited to attend services there on Wednesday at 10am with Rev. Clyde Davis officiating.

Private burial will be in the Sterrettania Cemetery at the convenience of the family
