Fred Trimble

Fred (Pops) Trimble, 79 of Girard, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday April 23, 2016 following a brief illness.

He was born May 5, 1936 in Erie, a son of the late David and Rose (Bickhop) Trimble.

Fred graduated from Academy High School in 1955. Following high school he enlisted in the US Army serving from 1955 to 1958 in South Korea as well as stateside as a welder. He married Joanie (Ames) Trimble in November of 1983 and retired as a dedicated Supervisor from Smith Meter.

He really enjoyed deer hunting and fishing on his boat, he retired to AZ for 8 years prior to moving to Girard. He was a member of the NRA, raised chickens , geese, ducks; he always had the best garden and loved his fish in his pond. He also loved feeding the birds, a good cigar and spending time with his dog, "Yonie".

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Ames) Trimble on January 1, 2015 also by brothers John and William Trimble.

He is survived by a daughter, Ruthie Crosby of Erie; three sons, Fred "Nick" Trimble Jr., Jeff Trimble and fiance' Dawn, John D. Trimble; sisters, Rose Hornstein (Jack) and Margaret (Mitz) Kuhl (Walter);step children, Carl Young (Sonja), Marcy Sechrist (Bill), James Wickles (Diane), Leonard Wickles , Sherri Dolan (Kerry), John Wickles (Krissy); grandchildren, Jacob Crosby, Matthew Lesko, Mark Lesko, Walker Johnson, Brian Sechrist, Kasey Dolan, Jenny Marshall, Cory Wickles, Hillary Young, Katey McGill, Ian Wickles, Britta Wickles, Robert Wickles, Lexy Wickles and great grandson Connor McGill.

There will be no calling hours or services observed.

Fred's Family would like their gratitude to all the organizations for their loving care of Fred in his final days, especially Hospice and Comfort Care. We would like to thank Edder Funeral Home for their kindness.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice or the Erie City Mission, Because you care, the Humane Society or Hospice.
