Dorothy Carlson Obituary

Dorothy (Sylvis) Carlson, 94 of Girard, passed away on Sunday March 4, 2018 at Sarah Reed Senior Living.
She was born December 13, 1923 in La Jose Pa. in Clearfield County, a daughter of the late John and Ella Belle (Williams) Sylvis. She attended Kramer School in Jefferson County and later moved to Erie and worked at Copes-Vulcan until her retirement in 1982.
Dorothy was a life member of the Girard American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She especially enjoyed taking care of her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Carlson and her three grandsons, Robert Carlson, Gary Carlson Jr. and Kenneth Smyers, also her daughter in law Sandi Carlson.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Smyers and husband Ken of Sugar Land, Texas; her four sons, Al Carlson and of Erie, Gary R. Carlson and wife Sandy, Ed Carlson and his wife Donna, and Eldon Carlson, all of Girard; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sarah Reed Senior Living Center, 227 W. 22nd St Erie, PA 16502
