David C. Fiesler

July 31, 1942 ~ January 13, 2018 (age 75) 75 Years Old


David C. Fiesler, 75, of Girard, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Pleasant Ridge Manor.
 He was born in Erie, on July 31, 1942, a son of the late Ethelburt and Mae (Brozell) Fiesler.
 Dave grew up on Presque Isle where his father was a caretaker, graduating from McDowell High School in 1961.  Following high school he enlisted in the US Air Force. He deployed with the 1958th Communications Squadron to Guam, where he worked in the Pacific Computer Communications area. He was awarded the Air Force Good Conduct Medal. Upon his honorable discharge from the military he lived and worked in the construction trade in Buffalo, later returning home to Erie where he continued work as a self employed contractor for many years, retiring in 2007.
 Dave loved motorcycles, ATV’s, bird watching, nature and simply watching the deer and squirrels in the back yard. He especially loved his Chihuahua “Tiny”.
 In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Rosalie F. “Rose” Eppley and Shirley Ackerman and a brother, Earl Fiesler.
 He is survived by his wife, Joan K. (Foster) Mink Fiesler, whom he married April 4, 2003 in Fairview also by two sons, Charles “Chuck” Fiesler (Johnie) of Vail, AZ, Michael Fiesler (Crystal) of Tucson, AZ, his grandchildren, Tiffany Fiesler of Tyler, TX, Ryan Fiesler of Tucson, Alicia Fritz (Joshua) of Vail, AZ, Amber Knight and Hannah Fiesler both of Tucson; a step daughter, Margaret Mink of Olympia, WA; a step son, Dr. Kenneth Mink (Madeline), and step grandchildren, Kyle and Shane, of McKean; sisters in law, Judith Enstrom, Diane Matz and Alice Foster all of Fairview; brothers in law, David L. Eppley of Erie and Ronald Foster of Grants Pass, OR also several nieces and nephews.
 Friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Sterrettania Cemetery on Tuesday, March 13 at 11 am with full military honors with a luncheon to follow at Fairview Presbyterian Church.
