Craig J. Hawley, 68 of Girard, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at UPMC Hamot.
He was born in Erie, March 28, 1948, a son of the late Delford "Bud" and Lora (Korby) Hawley.
Craig graduated from the Rice Avenue Union High School in 1966 where he took part in the School Chorus and other activities. Following high school he went to school where he studied automotive mechanics. He worked at General Electric, and later VanAir in Girard and retired from there. He also owned and operated in own business, Bud’s Keystone on Main St. in Girard ,which was the family business began by his father, Bud Hawley. He was known in the area to assist any individual that needed help, especially with people that didn’t have enough resources to get their cars fixed.
He always enjoyed working on cars, stamp collecting and watching automotive shows on TV.
Craig will be greatly missed by his family, which include his wife Debbie (Golden) Hawley of Girard; a son Joshua Hawley (Mavis) of Salt Lake City, UT, a step daughter, Jennifer Allen (Brian Peters) of Girard; a sister, Gail Clapper (Scott) of Girard; two granddaughters, Jessica and Alex Hawley; step grandchildren, Aidan and Cailyn Peters; step great grandchild, Talia Hawley a nephew, Brent Clapper.
Friends may call on Friday from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Edder Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard. Services following the memorial hours will be held privately by the family.
