Betty R. (Field) Kreider, 90 of Girard, passed away peacefully on Monday March 20, 2017 at her home.
She was born June 15, 1926 in Meadville, a daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy (Moses) Field.
Betty graduated from Conneautville High School in 1944. During the War years she worked as one of the "Rosie the Riveter" girls at Ohio Rubber in Conneautville. She later moved to Girard following her marriage to David L. Kreider on November 19, 1946.
Betty and Dave owned a small grape vineyard in Girard on Church St. which she took care of to give the family additional income. She later worked for Eggelson's Wood Mfg. in Girard.
She enjoyed roller skating and Gymnastics in her younger years. Betty loved cooking and baking for family and friends, however her family and grandchildren were her priority in her life. She passed on the love of family getting together, simply for card playing and enjoying each others company. She also enjoyed bowling at Westway, lake City lanes and Suburban Lanes.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death in 2015 by her husband, David L. Kreider; her grandson, Chris Guidotti; two sisters, Leona Davis and JoAnn Zimmer; brothers, Charles Field, Rodney Field and Frank Field Jr.
She is survived by her three daughters, Nancy E. Guidotti (Albert) of Lansdale, Pa., Diane L. Brown of Gastonia, N.C., and Kimberly S. Horvath of Girard, a son, Robert E. Kreider and his fiance' Chris of Fairview; a brother, Fred Field (Patricia), all of Conneautville; grandchildren, Kory, Carrie, Kristi, Kyle and Justin; great grandchildren, David, Natalie, Ava, Kolton, Kyra, Addison and Sawyer and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6 -8 p.m. at Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard and are invited to attend services there on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jim Rimmer officiating.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
