Anna M. (Simkovitch) Smith, 57, of Girard, passed away on Saturday September 10, 2016 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born August 21, 1959, a daughter of the late Paul and Mary A. (Lance) Simkovitch.

Ann graduated from the Girard High School in 1977. She began working at Caron Enterprises when the company began business, and continued there as an Inspector, in assembly and most recently as a receiving clerk.

She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and enjoyed basketball while in high school, gardening flowers and vegetables. Presque Isle was a favorite place to go. She was known as an Avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Ann will be greatly missed by her family which include her son, Jason P. Smith (Deirdre J.) of Moncks Corner, SC; her long time companion, David R. Weithman of Girard; a brother, Paul D. Simkovitch of Orlando, FL; her grandchildren, Austin J. Smith, Paisley A. Smith, Logan A. James and Aiden T. James; her niece, Ashley Simkovitch, her nephew, Aaron Simkovitch and many cousins and aunts, uncles and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard. A Prayer service will be held there on Thursday at 9:30AM followed by the Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 101 Olin Ave., Girard at 10AM.

Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
