Alfred B. "Bud" Wegmiller, 73, of East Springfield, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Lake Pointe Rehab & Nursing Center in Conneaut, OH.
Bud was born on March 18, 1944 to the late Alfred and Esther (Kane) Wegmiller in La Crosse, WI. He graduated with the Class of 1962 from Rice Avenue Union High School. After graduation he attended college at Gannon University, graduating in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. Bud was inducted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was station at Ft. Dix, NJ. Upon his honorable discharge from the military he returned home and began working for Dailey Chevrolet, Hal Reno Chevrolet, Myer Chevrolet, Mike Lockwood Dodge, McQuillen Chevrolet Buick GMC, and most recently for Greg Sweet Chevrolet-Buick in Conneaut, OH.
Bud's passion was his work and selling automobiles. He enjoyed car shows and drag races (NHRA). His greatest joy was spending time with his grandson, Bud referred to that time as his "recreation".
Bud is survived by his wife, Naomi (Bates) Wegmiller, whom he married on June 12, 1971 in West Springfield; a son, Christian A. Wegmiller (Fiancée, Diane Bretzius); sisters, Sharon Garres (Dave) and Mary Moon (Roger); brother, Gary Wegmiller (Patty); his grandson, Tristan Bretzius; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard and are invited to services there on Friday at 10 a.m.
Burial will be in the Springfield Cemetery.
